Overview

The Force is definitely with Dark Horse, the cult comic book company. Star Wars' explosive space saga lives on in Crimson Empire as a new generation of heroes takes over from Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.

The story opens at a time of high turmoil in the Empire. The last of Emperor Palpatine's clones has been destroyed by Rebel Skywalker and his allies. The Dark Lord Jax, one of the former Emperor's elite Crimson Guard, has seized the throne for himself.

One brave man stands between Jax and univeral domination: Kir Kanos, the only other surviving member of the feared Crimson Guard. On the run and fighting for his life in a world of treachery and deceit, Kir Kanos is forced to take refuge on the placet Phaeda, joining forces with the fierce, beautiful Rebel leader Mirith Sinn and her underground warriors.

Crimson Empire

The plot doesn't strive to improve the character of Kir Kanos......he doesn't go through character development....It was somewhat entertaining but unsatisfying.

Crimson Empire Review

As a fan of all things SW, I enjoyed the performance of this short story. The characterizations were good, and the the accompanying sound effects were of good quality, though sometimes overbearing for an audio production.

Not Bad - Not Great

This isn't bad for a story line derived from a comic book. Being a long time reader of comic books, I'm used to minimal back histories and descriptions. On the other hand, I think they did a decent job with Kir Kanos. Lots of action, a little intrigue, and suspicions. All it would have taken is a little work and back story on the supporting characters and I would have bypassed the fourth star and gone straight into the fifth.

Okay but not star wars

This book was not bad for a dramatized audio book. It was not a star wars book really. It had all new characters and nothing to do with any of the original story of star wars. The acting was of course worse than anything you have probably ever heard but that is to be expected and if you can get passed that and the simply child like story you may enjoy this audio book. It is worth checking out.

Star Wars - Crimson Empire [uab]

Ghastly presentation, and pathetic, simplistic story. Gack. Have a 12 year old read you a comic book - it will be more interesting. Am giving up on the Lucasfilms productions - too much sappy loud music, quiet speech you can't hear and dumb stories.
