A Lovely Mix

  • Book Rating: 5/5

This book is Fantasy at it's best with a lovely romance at its center. The author builds a wonderfully complex, post-apacolytic world inhabited by two disparate peoples, the Farmers and the Lakewalkers. The Lakewalkers guard the land against Malices. The Farmers are craftsmen and people of the land. A Lakewalker and a young Farmer girl dispatch a Malice together and this is their story. The author blends romance and fantasy with such lyricism that I had to relisten to numerous sections of the book to make sure I'd caught every bit of language and nuance. I haven't loved a book this much since I started reading Anne McCaffrey's Pern novels 30-plus years ago.
