EXCELLENT: " BEEN THERE DO THAT " 80% Is myself to a tee.
This book was inspirational, a tribute to BOTH Tim Russerts. What a treasure for the Russert family to have these well written words read by this remarkable man, journalist, son, father, husband. I ended up purchasing a copy to give to my husband for father's day.
Excellent. Very descriptive of the life we had growing up with parents (both my mom and my dad) that served in World War II and built a wonderful life for themselves, their families, and friends. Honesty and integrity were valued.
I loved this book as I had always admired Tim Russert! He was so well respected and listening to his account of his life and times I can understand so much of his personality. I laughed and cried at times just as some others have .
I enjoyed Tim Russert's book about growing up, things he learned from his father and various mentors and the importance of family, hard work and discipline. His book was interesting, entertaining and in some ways even enlightening. I used to watch him on 'Meet the Press' and really enjoyed his hard hitting yet down to earth, friendly and respectful style. Now I see where this skill and his excellent values came from. He is greatly missed.
Loved this book! It inspired me, made me reflect upon my own childhood and the people that influenced me the most in my own life and I even laughed out loud a few times. Tim Russert- thank you for sharing many of your personal life experiences. I truly enjoyed listening to every minute of it.
I really enjoyed this book largely because I grew up in the Buffalo area and could really relate to the places and values that Mr. Russert grew up with.
Loved it. For me, it was a plus that it was read by the author (Tim Russert). I was fully engaged the entire book - I appreciated his candor and the detail with which he recalled his life experiences. A beautiful tribute to his father and a reflection of a life well lived (his Dad's and so far, his). Highly recommend this selection.
I loved this book almost as much as I admire Tim Russert! As a parent and grandparent I would love to think that I could influence my descendents as positively and powerfully as Big Russ did. I laughed and cried at times; a great book, and Tim's reading is just great. Like having a story told in your livingroom!
Tim Russert is the moderator and managing editor of Meet the Press, and the Washington bureau chief of NBC News. He is married to Maureen Orth, and they have one son, Luke.
"From the Hardcover edition."
