Tell Your Friends:

Overview

A sinister fire in a Copenhagen bookstore ignites a relentless hunt across four continents. Arson and murder reveal an insidious plot to steal a Bible that once belonged to Charles Darwin. And Commander Gray Pierce dives headlong into a mystery that dates back to Nazi Germany...and to horrific experiments performed in a now-abandoned laboratory in Poland.

A continent away, madness ravages a remote monastery in Nepal, as Buddhist monks turn to cannibalism and torture. Lisa Cummings, an American doctor investigating the atrocity, is suddenly a target of a brutal assassin. And Lisa's only ally is Painter Crowe, director of SIGMA Force, who already shows signs of the baffling malady.

Now it is up to Gray Pierce to save them both as SIGMA Force races to expose a century-old plot that threatens to destroy the current world order . . . and alter the destiny of humankind forever.

Exciting and fast paced

I immediately added more books by this author to my rental shelf after finishing the Black Order. I love stories with strong plots and lots of action. Plus, I enjoyed the historical info tucked into the engaging plot. Though somewhat predictable, it moved very well and the characters were well done especially in a story so centered on the action. It kept my attention.

Slow . . . but good

This was a slow developing book, but in the end it turned out to be good. You have to be willing to accept a few far fetched ideas, but if you have a willing imagination it a good book. Good blend of evolution vs religion.

Boring/predictable

Was all set for a good adventure yarn. This is just too precitable and too much of a pattern. The inital premises is intriguing but after that the mystery wanes and cookie cutter international "thriller" ensues.I sent it back half way through with absolute zero interest in the conclusion.

Great Action / Adventure!

I found myself sitting in a lot of parking lots, eager to hear "what's next?" in this book! The narrator was very good, the characters were well developed (but not obtrusively so), and the story line was excellent - lots of plot twists and exciting adventures. Definitely put this on your list for a long car trip - you won't want to stop listening once you start!

I snuck out at lunch so I could listen in my car! The story was great, there were enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. I thought it was terrific!
