A surprisingly enjoyable book about the beginning of the U.S. Navy. From the politics behind the formation, to the craft behind building the six frigates, and the battles they fought in, this book is thorough enough for those wanting to know more, but it doesn't get locked into depths of detail that bore the listener. The stories of Old Ironside and the battles against Tripoli alone make this book worth a listen. For someone who didn't have a large interest in naval history, it helped create that interest. Well done.
