Most people know audio books as 'books on tape'. Audio books are usually spoken-word adaptations of books originally produced in print. Audio Books sometimes feature the author's own voice although many are given dramatic readings by one or more actors or at times embellished with sound effects.

The difference between the two is that an audio book tells the story using actual narrators while the eBook Reader only uses the built in computer voice featured in your eBook.

If you own an iPad or iPod and use it as an eBook reader – yes, it is compatible as these devices are functional with MP3 and M4B audio file formats. If you own a different eBook reader device, it may or may not be compatible depending on its ability to support MP3 or M4B formats. Please inquire with your eBook reader provider to see what file types your device supports.

We currently offer 2 different kinds of downloads - MP3s and M4Bs. Both formats are compatible with your iPod. Learn more about our audio book formats here. Some members may still have WMA audio books in their download library. WMAs are an older, Windows-specific format, which are not compatible with iPods.
